Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine’s “natural,” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”), search results. – Wikipedia
If we considered Internet Marketing a war, Search Engine Optimization is one of the biggest battles. Search Engine Results Pages (SERP) can often include thousands of results. However statistics show, the first result, on the first page, gets the most attention. Search Engine Optimization is the difference between being at the top of the first page, on the first page or lost among the many other results.
Search Engine Optimization is a Complicated Process:
It is certainly a way more complicated process than just adding keywords to the keywords meta tag. I really can’t believe how often people still ask about the keywords meta tag, even though Google does not use the keywords meta tag in web ranking, and they haven’t for years.
Most times, when I see material on the keywords meta tag, it is a scam. This type of scam usually shows up in the form of an email, soliciting money for SEO services. In the email, the scammer will point out how a website’s keywords meta tags doen’t contain accurate or relevant keywords, based on the content of the website. This allows the SEO scammers to sneak in and rip of the general public, while cheapening a legitimate industry.
The fact is, Search Engine Optimization is a complicated process and even for a team of people, it can take months to see quality results. It isn’t realistic to think there is a quick fix to permanently resolve SEO shortcomings. Search engines are constantly changing thier algorithms, to improve the quality of thier product, so SEO is constantly evolving. Staying on top of the changes is a daily task.
